Yesterday was Joe's birthday party and the celebration of his day was wonderful! It was a happy and joyous occasion and everyone present enjoyed it, as did Joe. Family and friends present were- Heidi, Trevor, Esther, Carmen, Roy, Zimeta, Karl, Virginia, Linda and her mother, Maggie, Lenor, John Paul and Peter, plus the staff including Ana. Also the residents present for cake and ice cream were Pat, Bob, Lou, Jules, Sydney and Leslie. Joe had a beautiful marble cake topped with white and dark chocolate curls, black walnut and vanilla ice cream, plus an incredible crocodile cake that Linda brought made from cupcakes. Linda also brought a couple plates filled with all kinds of sweet goodies. And Hawaiian Punch to drink, plus Joe was allowed two bottles of Bud Light. He received two sets of pants and shirts, a gorgeous Izod burgundy shirt, gardening things in a cute pumpkin, See's candy, and a new hat. There were 12 beautiful helium birthday balloons, 10 gift bags with colorful birthday teddy bears (these were given to residents at end of party) and lots of colorful decorations. Joe was so worn out from all the celebrating that about 4:15 he slipped off and went to bed for a nap! When the rest of us left about 5:00 he was still sleeping. Joe had a very happy birthday.
