It was a very sad day for my dear friend, Chico. Her beloved husband, David passed away December 1st- ten days before their first wedding anniversary. Friday evening, December 15th, at 6:00 p.m., there was a memorial service for David at the Palm West Community Church in Sun City West. It was one of the most beautiful tributes I have ever seen done for someone- David was so loved and cherished, and was a very special and giving person. His only daughter, only brother, and only grandchild were there also, and they love Chico very much. When I walked in she came to me and hugged me for the longest time, sobbing-her heart is just broken. David was a paramedic for the Phoenix Fire Dept. for 27 years, and an honor guard was there for him, and a bagpiper and a drummer. It was an awesome ceremony and tribute to him. I researched the history of this and the bagpipe ceremony for firemen dates back 800 years. It is an amazing story and a beautiful thing to witness and hear.
The bagpiper played Amazing Grace, and it does something to your heart and soul hearing it.
