Today I met my friend, Kathy Weiner, at Joe's group home and it was a special day there. The woman who has the keyboard came and played lots of old music and the residents love it. They sing with it and the most fun and best thing they do, is dance. Only Sydney and Pat dance with each other and they are the cutest, sweetest thing going on. The rest of the residents who participate dance with the hospice nurses (two were there today) and the girls who work at the home. It was a beautiful day in Phoenix, bright and sunny and 75 degrees. They had the front door open and music poured out to the street. Kathy and I hated to leave, but because Joe's hospice nurse, Millie, needed to check him out, we finally went to lunch at the Good Egg. I had a wonderful lunch and visit with Kathy also. She is so good with Joe and she had fun talking to him today. He did not know who she was, but he sure loved talking with her. And since it was earlier in the day, he even made sense several times. We had a lot of laughs and enjoyment there today, as did all involved.
